Wot what does signal range do
What is it? It's only for World of Tanks PC. In Blitz, all friendly tanks can see what everyone else sees. I dont really think it comes into play much in blitz. Its the distance your tank can communicate with another. On pc if you're outside radio range of the spotter, you wont see the spotted tanks.
Signal range is sort of important. Sometimes, on bigger maps, such as dead rail, if you are sniping back at your soawn, and an enemy lights up in their spawn, there is a high chance you can't see him, only on the mini map, due to signal range. I've actually had a few instances where the signal range came into play. Enable this option for easier orientation on the battlefield. Thick bushes and fallen trees can conceal your vehicle. Remember, your entire vehicle must be blocked by the foliage, otherwise you will not be hidden.
The exception to this rule is your gun—if your gun extends beyond the bush, it will not ruin your concealment. If you are within 15 meters of the bush, you will be able to see other vehicles through it.
You will not only be out of sight, but also in position for an ambush. More information HERE. Just let us know how we can help and we'll be happy to assist you.
Edited by Mko, 17 February - AM. There's no minimap indication for this as it would be beyond cluttered. Spotted tanks won't appear on your minimap even if your allies are currently fighting them.
Scouting far ahead of allies in a fast tank with poor radio range - such as the ELC with only m radio range. When you are the only guy that thinks an empty flank should be exploited allies still camping in base can dissappear from your minimap even though you can see they are still in the game from your team list.
Spotted targets won't show up if you are outside of the radio range. Mko, on 17 February - AM, said: Radio range is not normally drawn on the minimap.
TungstenHitman, on 17 February - PM, said: Ah ok that's cleared up my misinterpretation of the Yellow Circle on the minimap. HighlyExplosive, on 17 February - PM, said: Render range is the same for every vehicle regardless of tier or type, but it's not uncommon to line up a shot using the minimap if the target is outside render range.
Usually over meters. Handy to know for when u want to fire on a target on the minimap. You might hit them if they are still within u'r weapon range. If another friendly has a m signal range, however, you will stay in contact up to m — useful in the upcoming Grand Battle Game Mode.
That being said, it could certainly be noticeable at lower tiers especially with stock Radios or with the introduction of larger maps such as the upcoming xm Nebelburg. That just about rounds this guide off. Do you think Spotting Range is still as important as it once was, and what guide would you be interested in seeing next?
