The fire of also spared the Corsini Chapel, one of the jewels of the Florentine Baroque, built to contain the mortal remains of St. Andrew Corsini , canonised in Peter and the theme of redemption. Brancacci was latterly declared an enemy of the state; the faces of the Chapel's patrons were destroyed, with Filippino Lippi ultimately restoring the frescoes some fifty years later.

The Chapel is small and visitor numbers are restricted - a maximum of thirty people are admitted and visit time is limited to approximately thirty minutes. Your visit is accompanied by an excellent multimedia video guide, presented on a hand-held tablet and earphones. This guide is full of hi-resolution images and will give an intimate insight into many of the frescoes.
The frescoes, which were neglected throughout the 19th century, were brush-cleaned in , but it was not until to that a thorough restoration finally restored their clear and brilliant colours.
